TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The possibility of the free tariff of Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi or Jagorawi toll road for public remained open, said Head of Corporate Finance of state-owned toll operator PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Eka Setya Adrianto. However, the plan could be soon applied by the end of the concession period in 2044.
“It’s possible, really possible when the concession period ends, that will be the government’s choice, but 2044 is a really long time ahead. Let’s wait for the end of the concession,” said Eka when met at a discussion in BCA Tower, Central Jakarta, Thursday, February 7. However, he added that there is no official order yet to set free the toll road fee other than Suramadu toll.

Earlier, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Fadli Zon demanded President Joko Widodo or Jokowi set loose the tariff of Jagorawi toll as it had operated for 40 years.
Eka continued to say that when the period of concession ends, the government has an option to free the toll road fee or take another round of tender that he could not predict.
“Because when the concession period completes, the maintenance cost and other costs will be financed from tax,” he added.
Jagorawi toll, he mentioned, is presently the government’s asset but Jasa Marga has a concession right to operate, charge fees, and run maintenance until 2044.
