The main cause of the spread of HIV/AIDS in Tangerang Regency is free sex. The infected people are not only sex workers or their clients, but also employees, housewives, children, and fishermen.
To curb the spread of the deadly disease, Tangerang administration shut down a prostitution site located in Dadap, Kosambi district. However, the policy could not effectively decrease the spread.
Currently, Tangerang administration conducts a preventive measure along with activists by disseminating the transmission and dangerous of HIV/AIDS to the public.
