Jokowi Signs President`s Rule on Gas Network

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo signed a Presidential Regulation on the Supply and Distribution of Natural Gas through the Natural Gas Network for Small Households and Customers.
The rule was passed on January 28, 2019. It serves as the main legal umbrella for developing gas networks for small households and customers.
The bill has 32 articles which regulate the planning and implementation for the supply and distribution of natural gas, both through the network and by the central government and business entities.
Furthermore, the rule regulates the selling price of natural gas for consumers.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Minister has issued a Decree as a derivative rule for the presidential regulation. The decree, registered as Decree No.11K/10/EM/2019, stipulates—among others—the appointment of Pertamina as the party in charge of building the gas network.
