Police Uncover LINE Group Chat Prostitution `Show Time`

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After uncovering an online-chat group running online prostitution in the chat-app Line entitled ‘Show Time’, police investigation found that the group had also trafficked high school student for the group’s prostitution practices.

“We arrested the suspects who are under intense questioning,” said Grand Commissioner Hengki Haryadi, West Jakarta Metro Police Chief on Sunday, February 3.

The West Jakarta Police announced the arrest of five suspects involved in the hidden prostitution syndicate and confiscated incriminating pieces of evidence such as; five Line group accounts, four Official Line accounts, 30 screen-captures of the group’s activity, and several computer hardware.

The West Jakarta Police cybercrime unit said that ‘Show Time’ members are able to watch live pornography shows played by female models or couples provided by the group’s admins.

The high school student mentioned earlier not only acts as an adult-themed model in the group but also does online prostitution that is run by the group chat syndicate. Police say that this type of prostitution practice has spread like wildfire under numerous different modus operandi.
