TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jenggala Center Foundation Head Ibnu Munzir said that the role of Vice President Jusuf Kalla helped improve the electability of presidential and vice presidential candidates Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin in South Sulawesi.
According to Ibnu, Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin’s electability once fell behind their rivals, Prabowo – Sandiaga Uno in South Sulawesi that scored 71 percent at the region.
This condition is a contrast to the 2014 presidential election when Jokowi – Jusuf Kalla ran for the presidency.
Jenggala Center, founded by Jusuf Kalla himself in 2014, mobilized teams across 27 of 34 “unsafe” provinces in the region for this year’s election to help improve Jokowi’s electability in the region.
The numerous posters of Jusuf Kalla’s endorsements for Jokowi proved to be effective since Jusuf Kalla is one of many well-respected people in the region. Less than two-weeks, Ibnu Munzir reported that the team’s strategy helped significantly improve Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin’s electability up to 5 percent.
“We spread posters of Pak JK (Jusuf Kalla) stating that he supports Jokowi for the country’s development. It was quite significant,” said Ibnu Munzir.
