TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ferdinand Hutahaen, a member of advocacy directorate of the National Campaign Agency of Prabowo - Sandiaga, said that the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) should examine Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara upon the latter’s statement ‘who pays your salary’.
On Thursday, January 31, during the ministry's event in Basket Hall, Senayan, Rudiantara asked employees to vote designs of two different stickers about the election dissemination that would be displayed in the ministry building.
An employee chose the sticker number two, mentioning the reasons by talking of the presidential candidate number 02 which prompted Rudiantara to question the person, “who pays your salary?”
“Bawaslu must take an action without waiting for a report. What Rudiantara did has violated the democracy,” Ferdinand told Tempo, Friday, February 1, stressing that Bawaslu should be proactive in monitoring the election.
Ferdinand assessed Rudiantara has violated the policy concerning leave regulation for state officials to run a campaign as mandated in Law No. 7/2017 on General Election. The minister, he opined, also ruled others to vote the candidate number 01 Jokowi - Ma’ruf by questioning and intimidating state apparatus about the source of the salary.
BPN, Ferdinand continued, would discuss the matter before lodging a report against Minister Rudiantara to Bawaslu.
