Jogja Heboh Festival Offers 50 Percent Off of Hotel Room

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - A total of 200 hotels in Yogyakarta offer discounts during the Jogja Heboh Festival. The festival that lasts for a whole month of February 2019, will present music shows, culinary, and bazaar.
“Many discount promos are provided for tourists for staying in a hotel listed as a member of PHRI (Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association)”, said the organizing committee head Arif Effendi during the launching ceremony in Yogyakarta Governor Office, Thursday, January 31.
Arif mentioned the discount is varied from 10 to 60 percent for rooms and dinner package, either in a star or non-star hotel.
The festival, Arif explained, is aimed at boosting the tourist arrivals and promoting tourism in the region. “We hope the occupancy rate will increase by 10 to 20 percent during this event,” he added.
PHRI Yogyakarta chairman Istijab M Danunagoro said that the tourist arrival in February usually decreased, and so it was required creative events to deal with the issue.
In addition to hotel promo, Istijab continued, travel agents joining the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) of Yogyakarta also offer low-cost travel packages and various new tourist destinations in the region.
