TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Tangerang National Narcotics Agency (BNN) arrested a suspect, AD (28), for buying liquid cannabis sent from the United States to Indonesia via postal service.
“This drug bust was made possible by the partnership with the Customs Office of the Pasar Baru postal office,” said Banten Province BNN Head Brig. Gen. Tantan Sulistyana on Thursday, January 31.
Tantan said that the Customs Office initially noticed a suspicious package containing wet-tissue products that weighed 7.2 grams sent from the United States to an address in South Tangerang.
“Based on lab tests, the tissues contained Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or liquid cannabis,” said Tantan, who said that the suspect bought it off of the dark web using cryptocurrency.
According to police, the suspect AD had initially worked in the Philippines and first knew about the liquid cannabis while working at the region. He then ordered the illegal drugs to be sent to Serpong to be mixed into his Vape liquids and also sell them.
