TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta planned to reconstruct the pedestrian bridge or JPO in front of BMW store on Jalan T.B. Simatupang, South Jakarta. The grider installation would begin on February 3, 3019, at 22:00 local times.
The corporate secretary of MRT Jakarta, Muhammad Kamaluddin, estimated that the installation will spend about six hours. Thus, the road will be closed temporarily.
“The south area of Jalan T.B. Simatupang will be closed, starting from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan building until P.O. Lorena,” said Kamaluddin in a written statement, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 30.
During the closure, people could pass alternative route of Jalan RS Fatmawati - Jalan T.B. Simatupang, 400 meters away from the bridge or pass Jalan Lebak Bulus 1.
Kamaluddin explained that the modification project was required to adjust the width of the road of Jalan T.B. Simatupang. After the MRT Jakarta project completes, the road should provide two lanes within 7 meters of width, yet the current figure is 4.3 meters.
“So, modification on the JPO is needed to accommodate the target of 3.5-meter width of each lane,” he noted.
