PSSI Sends Bima Sakti to Training Program in England

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has sent the coach of the under 16 (U-16) national football team, Bima Sakti, to a training program in England.
“Bima Sakti will be trained there to improve quality, capacity, and experience as a national team,” said PSSI sec-gen Ratu Tisha Destria in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Ratu Tisha explained that Bima Sakti would join the Garuda Select, a training program for U-16 soccer team which is consisted of 24 players in England.
During the six-month training, Bima would assist Dennis Wise, a technical director of Garuda Select team. Other than Bima, coaches to join the program are Gde Mahatma, Ilham Romadona, and Sopian Hadi who are trainers of young players.
“We have a target to pass Indonesian team to the 2024 Olympics. We focus to achieve it by improving the capacity and quantity of trainers as well as players. We provide them a chance to experience a competition abroad,” said Ratu Tisha, adding that the coaches would directly witness a licensing course for trainers in the Football Association (FA).
Meanwhile, Bima Sakti expressed grateful and ready for the training initiated by PSSI. “This is a remarkable opportunity. Thank you PSSI. I’m ready to study, hope I’ll get many new learn,” Bima said.
