TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia has recorded transaction of tourism packages at Rp2.4 billion during the 25th International Travel Fair (ITF) Slovakiatour which was held in Incheba Expo Bratislava, Slovakia, from January 24 to 27. Destinations of the travel tour included Kalimantan, Bali, Lombok, and Java.
The Indonesian Embassy official Lely Meiliani told Antara London today, January 30, that the embassy was supported by the country’s Tourism Ministry and tour operators from Indonesia, namely Indoreisen and Mala Tour, and from Slovakia, which are Alchemy Travel, Victory Travel, and Dobrudruznecesty Travel.
Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia, Adityawidi Adiwoso, said that ITF Slovakiatur was an essential event to promote the country to international people or foreign tourists in Central and East Europe.
Based on the immigration data, the tourist arrival from Slovakia to Indonesia significantly increased over the years. In 2017, the number recorded at 8,368 tourists, rose from previously 6,629 tourists in 2016, 5,331 tourists in 2015, and 3,888 tourists in 2014.
Adityawidi expected Indonesian travel agents could make use of the moment to sell tourism packages of the country to destinations other than Bali and attract tourists in groups in a bid to increase the state revenue from the tourism sector.
Incheba president Alexander Rozin during his opening speech of ITF Slovakiatour 2019 lauded the participation of Indonesia that presented a large pavilion, promoting various coffees, tea, spices, and noodles other than travel packages.
