TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said that the declaration of support for presidential and vice presidential hopeful Joko Widodo or Jokowi - Ma'ruf Amin initiated by 31 regional heads in the region did not violate the law on the election.
“A declaration which is held on the weekend is allowed,” said Ganjar in Semarang, Monday, January 28.
Ganjar made the statement in response to the plan of the opponent camp Prabowo - Sandiaga to file a report to the Central Java Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) in light of the declaration event in Surakarta, Saturday, January 26.

The politician of the PDIP Party said that the declaration was established based on regulation and ethics, as well as did not hamper the implementation of public service.
“We abide by the regulation, obey the ethics, and public service is not hindered. If [a regional head] wants to campaign, they can take a leave, except on weekday or holiday,” said Ganjar.
Earlier, the National Campaign Agency of Prabowo - Sandiaga in Central Java planned to lodge a report to Bawaslu regarding the support declaration for the candidate number 01 Jokowi - Ma'ruf which was held by 31 regional heads in the region.
Meanwhile, Bawaslu Central Java spokesperson Roffiudin noted there was no report on the matter up to Monday afternoon.
