TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The deputy chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party's advisory council, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, asserted that Prabowo - Sandiaga pair are defenders of state’s ideology Pancasila. Hashim made the statement during his speech at a national dialogue “Diversity and Peaceful Election” in Bhayangkari building, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Sunday, January 27.
“The opponent always talks about Pancasila as if they are Pancasila defender. Excuse me, I believe that Prabowo - Sandiaga camp also defend Pancasila, (but) what’s the difference?” said Hashim.
He opined that the opponent only highlighted the first principle of Pancasila. “Tolerance, intolerance, religious harmony, and so on as mandated in the first principle. That’s right, and we believe so. Prabowo - Sandiaga and I certainly support it,” he added.
However, the government overlooked the fifth principle; Social justice for all the people of Indonesia, which also essential as other principles.
Hashim further gave examples of the government’s ignorance toward the last principle of Pancasila by quoting data from various institutions regarding wealth inequality in the country.
“Oxfam, a foreign NGO, reveals that Indonesia's four richest people have wealth and income exceeding 100 million Indonesians (on average),” he noted.
He continued to mention that 1 percent of Indonesians owned 72 percent of land in the country. “That means 99 percent of Indonesian people only have 28 percent of the land. This what I, Prabowo Subianto, and Sandiaga Uno mean to overcome,” Hashim underlined, adding that inequality might generate a social revolution.
