TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) provided bus ticket vending machines at Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, said AP II president director Muhammad Awaluddin.
“The new service is available at the bus shelter at Terminal 2, and will be later installed at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3,” Awaluddin added.
This digitalization attempt, Awaluddin said, aimed at helping people to continue their trip using airport bus by choosing a ticket and their last destination via the vending machine. A would-be passenger then should pay the ticket at a counter of the bus operator and board the bus through auto-gate.
Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) is also installed at each bus shelter, displaying a full schedule of bus departure.
“The service will ease passenger to reach their last destination in Jakarta Greater area (Jabodetabek), and provide a real schedule of the bus departure,” Awaluddin explained, adding that the new service would be later integrated via mobile application platform Airports App.
There are currently seven bus operators in Soekarno-Hatta Airport, namely Damri, Sinar Jaya, Primajasa, Hiba Utama, AGRA Mas, PPD, and Big Bird with a total of 412 bus units serving various routes across Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi). On a daily average, around 96,000 passengers utilized airport bus from and to the airport.
