Jokowi Camp Prefers Young, Dynamic Presidential Debate Moderator

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin campaign team debate coordinator Abdul Kadir Karding said that his team agrees Najwa Shihab should moderate the second presidential debate. Kadir believes that a moderator must be interesting.
“From what I imagine is that it would be fun if Najwa becomes the moderator,” said Karding in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Karding jokingly argued that Karni Ilyas is not the appropriate person for the job as a debate moderator since Karni was too senior and it would be better to give the task to a younger and more objective person.
However, the Jokowi camp will leave the decision back to the General Elections Committee (KPU) even though they will offer their choice in the same time. KPU announced several names that might take the job as moderator of the presidential debate on February 17 such as; Karni Ilyas, Najwa Shihab, and Tommy Tjokro.
