Anies Baswedan Congratulates Ahok upon Prison Release

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan congratulated his predecessor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok upon the latter’s prison release on Thursday, January 24. Anies said that the city administration is ready to cater to Jakartans, including Ahok.
“Congratulations. We, Jakarta administration, is ready to serve every public need,” said Anies today, January 24, in Abdul Muis, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Anies did not touch on Ahok as former Jakarta governor. He frequently stated that the city administration would take care of all needs of the Jakartans.
He said that every Jakarta resident has the same rights, and Ahok is one of them.
Ahok is soon to be released tomorrow after undergoing two-year imprisonment, that is reduced three months and a half remission, over blasphemy case. Ahok was jailed on May 9, 2017. His release will be aired live on his official Youtube account Panggil Saya BTP.
