UI Inside Top 100 Emerging Economies University Rankings 2019

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The University of Indonesia (UI) ranked 82nd, and equal to the Beijing Institute of Technology, in the emerging economies university rankings 2019 announced by Times Higher Education (THE).
This makes UI the only Indonesian representative making it to the list of 100 universities out of 442 spread across 43 world emerging economy countries.
They rank the universities’ performance based on numerous aspects such as teaching method, research, scientific transfers and distribution, and a university’s international coverage.
Ranking first to fourth are dominated by universities in China that comprise of Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, and University of Science and Technology of China.
Malaysia also performed better than Indonesia by having three of its universities breaking into THE’s top 100 list with University of Malaya ranking in 18th, Universiti Teknologi Petronas in 60th, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia placing in 86th.
Both Malaysia and Egypt were also considered by the Times Higher Education to be countries that are seeing its universities growing rapidly.
