TEMPO.CO, Makassar - Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto stated that he was interested in the technology developed by an Italian firm Zuccato Energia. The company turns dry waste into electric power.

“Latest technologies from developed countries like Italy is really good and is suitable for us to implement,” he said after received a visit from Business Developer Asian Project Engineering Simone Amicabile, in his residence in Makassar, South Sulawesi on Saturday, January 19.

Ramdhan said that developed countries had been utilizing power developed from the waste, hoping that it could be implemented in Indonesia, especially in Makassar, through a collaboration.

However, the Makassar mayor hoped that the regional work unit (SKPD) could coordinate it before going further. “We can first try it out; If it’s good, then we can buy it,” he said.
