TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has only received state official wealth reports (LHKPN) from two out of total 106 members of Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). The reports were also only submitted at the beginning of their first term, instead of periodically.
The acting director of KPK’s wealth reporting, Kunto Ariyawan, said that the compliance rate of DPRD members was lower than that of executive officials in the city administration. Since the era of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Jakarta administration received awards for the best LHKPN submission.
Therefore, KPK urged the Home Affairs Ministry to issue a bill concerning the compliance of state officials in regions in submitting the wealth report. “We have communicated [the matter] with Directorate General of Regional Autonomy. Insha Allah, the bill will be issued in the near future,” said Kunto, Thursday, January 17.
Jakarta executive officials, Kunto explained, frequently submitted their wealth report because of their higher-ups (up to governor) could impose a sanction, while DPRD members could avoid such punishment since there is none as in the bureaucratic hierarchy.
“We will later set a requirement that they are obliged to present a receipt of LHKPN report to disburse the allowance,” Kunto added.
Home Affairs Ministry’s Director General of Regional Autonomy, Sumarsono, confirmed the partnership with the KPK to draft regulation on the compliance of wealth report or LHKPN submission for state official in regions. The bill was targetted to complete at the end of February.
