Vanessa Angel Named Suspect in Online Prostitution Scandal

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The East Java police named Vanessa Angel a suspect in the scandalous celebrity online prostitution as of today.

“Today we named Vanessa Angel as a suspect,” said East Java Police Chief Inspector General Luki Hermawan on Wednesday, January 16.

Luki said that the police outcome came after an initial investigation and was backed by expert opinions. The soap opera actress will be charged Under Article 27 (1) on the electronic information and transactions law (UU ITE).

Police said that Vanessa Angel had directly exploited and offered her services to a pimp by sending her own photos and videos. During her arrest, Vanessa was caught red-handed with a businessman with the initials ‘R’ at a hotel in Surabaya on January 5.

Throughout the investigation, the East Java Police had named several individuals as suspects based on their involvement in the online prostitution scandal.
