TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The lawyer representing Yogyakarta rapper Marzuki “Kill the DJ” in the recent music infringement woes said that Marzuki was willing to open the possibility of revoking his police report.
Marzuki’s song ‘Jogja Istimewa’ was unintentionally used without permission and had its lyrics changed by a group of Prabowo Subianto volunteers. This eventually led to police report filed by the rapper.

“Actually, Mas Marzuki is open to the possibility and willing to solve this peacefully, which may lead him to drop the charges as long as there is good intention shown by the group that is the subject of the report,” said Marzuki’s lawyer Hilarius Ngajimerro in Yogyakarta on Wednesday, January 16.
The good intention he referred to is that Marzuki will be willing to cooperate if the volunteers that used and changed his song without permission are willing to issue an apology and promise that a similar situation will not happen again in the future.
“Don’t forget, Marzuki Kill the DJ once issued a subpoena against the Yogyakarta administration for using his song without permission during an event,” said Hilarius.
