TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The incumbent president candidate for the 2019 election, Joko “Jokowi” Widodo claimed he was not undergoing any special preparation in the wake of the presidential debate set to be held tomorrow on January 17.
“We’ll just be there,” said Jokowi at the Sentul International Convention Center in Bogor today, January 16.
He said that the data needed to back his stand in the debate had been well-prepared and that he would perform according to the theme of the debate, which will discuss human rights issues, law, terrorism, and corruption.
Jokowi also represented the normal routine for his running-mate Ma’ruf Amin, who echoed Jokowi’s statement and maintained that there were no specific routines prepped for him too.
“As a Cleric, he’s used to giving speeches and sermons,” Jokowi said. “Basically, we’ll be present [at the debate]. We’ll answer any questions that are asked.”
The inaugural presidential debate for the 2019 presidential election is set to be broadcast on a number of national televisions on Thursday, January 17, 2019.
