TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Courier service and logistics provider Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE) has adjusted its delivery cost with an average hike of 20 percent starting January 15, 2019, following the increased price of air cargo.
JNE President director M Feriadi in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 16, said the tariff adjustment would be effective for certain services, including Regular, OKE, and YES, and shipping from Jakarta Greater area or Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) to all domestic destinations.
Meanwhile, the tariff adjustment did not affect a package delivery to a local destination or Jabodetabek.
“The price hike of delivery fee from Jabodetabek depends on the destination zone and the service at 20 percent averagely,” he added.
According to Feriadi, the tariff adjustment is aimed at maintaining and improving the service quality as well as continuing a variety of company’s innovation and development.
“This step is done to adjust increasing operational cost which is in line with the price hike of air cargo set by airliners,” he noted.
Feriadi, who is a chairman of Asperindo (Indonesian Express Delivery Services Company Association), added that JNE and more than 200 companies members of the association had agreed to adjust delivery fees in January 2019 in response to the increased cost of air cargo at around 70 percent.
