TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi said the presence of soccer anti-mafia task force established by National Police would be a challenge for the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to be cooperative.

“We will not stop supporting the anti-mafia task force to generate a prevention act and provide a deterrent effect. I hope such fast attempts will motivate PSSI to encourage its discipline commission to move faster,” said Imam Nahrawi in Tasikmalaya, West Java, Tuesday.

The Ministry, Imam continued, had demanded PSSI make use of the role of its discipline commission and take a stern action before the National Police run an investigation on the match-fixing scandal in the country.

As of January 13, 2019, the football anti-mafia task force has named 10 suspects on the match-fixing case since mid-December 2018.

However, the police investigators only arrested six suspects namely PSSI executive committee Johar Lin Eng, a former member of PSSI referee commission Priyanto and his daughter Anik, member of PSSI discipline commission Dwi Irianto alias Mbah Putih, a referee of Liga 3 Nurul Safarid, a staff of PSSI referee director ML. The police had not yet detained other four suspects P, CH, MR, and DS.

The suspects of the match-fixing case are charged with Article 378 and 372 of Criminal Code (KUHP), Law No. 11 of 1980 concerning bribery, and Article 3, 4, 5 of Law No. 8 of 2018 on money laundering.
