TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Social Affairs Minister Idrus Marham is indicted for receiving Rp.2.2 billion in bribes from businessman Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo, in the alleged bribery case in Riau PLTU project. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) read the indictment at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday, January 15.
When reading out the indictment, KPK prosecutor Lie Putra Setiawan said that the money was allegedly given to Eni Saragih, so she would help Kotjo get the Riau 1 PLTU construction project through Blackgold Natural Resources and China Huadian Engineering Company Ltd.

Lie said that Johanes first met former DPR speaker Setya Novanto, who introduced him to Eni Saragih, the House's Energy Commission deputy. During the meeting, Setya Novanto told Eni to help Johanes in the PLTU project.
Eni agreed to the Setya and Johanes' request after she was promised a fee. After that, she started helping Johanes to secure the PLTU Riau project procurement, such as arranging a number of meetings with—among others—PLN president director Sofyan Basir.
Responding to the indictment, Idrus Marham told the judges that he would not file a plea. According to Idrus, the course of the trial will prove his case.
