TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The operational director II of PT Adhi Karya, Pundjung Setya Brata, said the construction of Light Rail Transit Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Bekasi alias LRT Jabodebek had reached 56.41 percent completion. The project was accelerated considering its first trial run was slated to take place in June 2019.
“This is an updated data per January 4,” said Pundjung when met in LRT Cawang Station in Cawang, East Jakarta, Monday, January 13.
The Station of LRT Cawang will be the largest LRT station since it connects trains to Cibubur and East Bekasi.
The construction of the station has reached 60 percent completion. The construction progress of other stations are; Cibubur-Cawang 76.21 percent, East Bekasi-Cawang 51.06 percent, and Cawang- Kuningan-Dukuh Atas 44.19 percent.

Pundjung mentioned several obstructions in the project of the last two routes. The Cawang-Dukuh Atas project was pending on the decision of Jakarta administration regarding the exact location of LRT Dukuh Atas station. “But we have seen a bright spot [for the matter] during a limited meeting yesterday.”
As for the Bekasi Timur-Cawang, the project was hindered by the land acquisition for the Depo as to store the trains. The Depo was planned to be built in the 12 hectares of land in East Bekasi. The land acquisition was targeted to complete in March 2019, Pundjung added.
Pundjung continued to say that in April and May 2019, the electrification work or the development of the signal system for the 44.34-kilometer railways would be started in April and May 2019. Then, the LRT Jabodebek will have its first trial run in June, while the commercial operation will be opened in March 2021.
