TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tech-company Tokopedia announced that Agus Martowardojo has joined the company and will take the position as Board of Commissioners.
CEO and Tokopedia co-founder William Tanuwijaya said that Agus’ experience is seen as a valuable asset in guiding the company’s leaders and as an institution.
“The presence of Pak Agus will strengthen the momentum of the company’s performance that is currently entering its tenth year upon realizing its digital economic equity,” said William in a written statement on Wednesday, January 9.
Agus Martowardojo has more than 30 years of experience as a banker, finance minister, and Central Bank Governor. As Bank Indonesia’s governor, Agus was actively involved in maintaining the stability and the endurance of Indonesia’s economy through ways that include monetary policy mix management, macroprudential, and a credible payment system as well as the issuance of Rupiah.
“I am happy to join Tokopedia and contribute my experience to support the company’s dream in pushing for inclusive economic development,” said Agus.
