TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice presidential hopeful number 01 Ma'ruf Amin on Tuesday, January 8, visited a notable Islamic cleric Arifin Ilham reported being lying in a hospital bed in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), Jakarta since Monday, January 7.
Ma’ruf said he was informed that Arifin Ilham was hospitalized since yesterday and decided to pay a visit after hearing the cleric was on critical condition.
The former chairman of the executive board (Rais Aam) of Nahdlatul Ulama arrived in RSCM at 13:04 and left an hour later. Arifin Ilham, according to Ma'ruf Amin, is a good figure who is keen to pray to God.
He pinned hope Arifin would gain health to further invite the public to hold mass zikr (remembrance to God) and call for kindness. ”Because that is really needed by the public, nation, and state,” said Ma'ruf Amin.
Arifin Ilham was reported to be hospitalized after his son, Muhamad Alvin Aziz, posted a photo of him on social media, asking for prayers. However, the cause of his hospitalization was not issued. At the end of last year, the famous cleric was said to suffer nasopharyngeal and lymph cancer that he claimed to had been healed.
