Evacuation Team Finds Four Victims of Sukabumi Landslide

TEMPO.CO, Sukabumi - The evacuation team of the landslide victim in Sukabumi, West Java, found new four bodies on Friday afternoon, January 4.
"Thank God that the weather is good today, so we can maximize the search until 7 p.m. We, therefore, managed to discover four bodies during the injury time at around 5 to 7 p.m.," said TNI’s 061 Suryakencana resort command, Col. Muhammad Hasan, during a press conference on Friday evening.
The Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) of West Java Police managed to identify two of the four Sukabumi landslide victims and return the two to their families.

"It’s all thanks to the hard work and solidity of the joint team consisting of the military (TNI), National Police, national SAR team, disaster mitigation agency (BPBD), and volunteers from all regions in Indonesia,” he said.
Hasan added that extra tools were also helpful for the team in searching the victims even though the search on the fifth day was hampered by 10-meter high mounds of soil.
Head of Sukabumi BPBD’s emergency unit Eka Widiaman said that as many as 22 victims of Sukabumi landslide were managed to be found, 20 were identified, 11 were still missing.
