Transjakarta Targets 231 Million Passengers in 2019

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Transjakarta targets the number of passengers in 2019 to reach 231 million people.
“Transjakarta targets Transjakarta passengers to reach 231 million with 236 routes served in 2019,” said PT Transjakarta President Director Agung Wicaksono in a statement on Tuesday, January 1.
In 2018, the number of Transjakarta passengers reached 189.77 million, increased 31 percent compared to last year.
According to Agung, the achievement was supported by adding routes. “There are 33 additional routes,” he said.
The Transjakarta currently has 155 routes. Previously, there were only 122 routes. These routes have served almost all of Jakarta and a number of cities such as Bekasi and Tangerang. In the future, there will be 236 routes.
Agung is optimistic that the number of passengers can increase with the Transjakarta integration program with other modes of transportation, for example, Jak Lingko. This program is claimed to have increased the number of passengers in 2018.
In addition, the program for integrating Transjakarta services with a number of other transportation modes, such as interconnection between the TransJakarta bus stop and the Jakarta MRT station, and the integration of the CSW Sisingamangaraja and Lebak Bulus stops.
PT Transjakarta also allows connectivity of the Pemuda Rawamangun bus stop with the Velodrome LRT Station in Rawamangun with the Jakarta LRT.
“2019 is the momentum to realize Jakarta Transportation integrated with all modes of transportation,” he said.
