Jasa Marga: Cikarang Sees 95,000 Vehicles during New Year Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-run toll road operator PT Jasa Marga predicted that some 95,000 vehicles passed through Cikarang toll gate during New Year holiday. It equals to a 76 percent increase from the normal traffic at 53,849 vehicles.
Jasa Marga Senior Specialist Corporate Communications Irra Susiyanti said that a significant increase also occurred at Ciawi toll gate for traffic heading to Jakarta. It saw 44,614 vehicles or a 112 percent increase from the normal traffic at 21,089 vehicles.
She went on to say that the traffic heading to Jakarta at Pasteur toll gate was recorded at 36,606 vehicles or a 34.69 percent increase from the normal traffic of 27,177 vehicles.
According to Irra, Jasa Marga has set several strategies to anticipate the return traffic flow of New Year holiday which is predicted to happen today, January 1, 2019.
"Jasa Marga calls on the road users to set the departing time in order to avoid traffic density, and to make sure the balance in the electronic money is sufficient before entering the toll road," she said.
Irra also reminded the drivers to maintain their health and have sufficient fuel before starting the journey on the toll road, especially, for travelers of a long trip through the Trans Java Toll.
