TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism Minister Arief Yahya along with West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Zulkieflimansyah released the 2019 Calendar of Event (CoE) of
NTB Saturday, December 29. A total of 18 events throughout the year would be held, and four of them are listed on the Top 100 National CoE.
The four cultural events are Pesona Bau Nyale, Festival Pesona Tambora, Festival Pesona Moyo, and Pesona Khazanah Ramadan.
Meanwhile, events listed on the CoE of Lombok in 2019 are Lombok Sumbawa Great Sale, Rinjani 100, Tour De Lombok Mandalika, Festival Pesona Senggigi, Bulan Pesona Lombok Sumbawa, and others.
The minister said the target of tourist arrival in NTB was set at 4 million people; 2 million foreign tourists and the rest are local tourists considering Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI) named NTB as the number one halal tourism destination.
NTB Governor, meanwhile, was optimistic four million tourists would visit NTB Province next year as targeted. “But no matter how great the promotion we carry out or how great the event is, it must be supported by accessibility or connectivity,” said Zulkieflimansyah.
Therefore, NTB provincial administration expected state-run airliner Garuda
Indonesia would add its flight frequency from previously two to ten direct flights from Bali to Lombok daily.
