TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The organizing committee for the New Year's Eve celebration in the Kuta Beach, Badung, Bali, relocated the activity of fireworks party to the land area. Initially, the fireworks will be fired from the sea of Kuta.

“The fireworks party is held in the shores of Kuta by considering the current weather condition,” said the head of the Badung Regency Tourism Department, Made Badra, in Mangupura, Bali Sunday, December 30.

The relocation was based on the results of coordination with a number of agencies such as the Region 3 Center for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) Denpasar, the police and the Badung Regency.

“BMKG issues an early warning of high waves. Under this condition, it is not possible to fire the fireworks from the middle of the sea, even if it is done on ships,” Badra said.

Finally, it was decided that the fireworks party is held around the Citadines Kuta Hotel or about 100 meters north of the Beachwalk Kuta shopping center.

“I am sure the fireworks party will continue with great fanfare and can entertain residents and tourists,” Badra said.

Badung regency administration has budgeted Rp900 million for the 15-minute event. There will be 5,000 fireworks that will be fired into the sky of Kuta Beach.

The Bali's Badung regency will also present a number of musicians, such as the Lolot music group, DJ Kiara and DJ Nadia.

“I also appeal to the public not to light fireworks partially in residential areas,” Made Badra said.
