4 Live Action Disney Remakes Released in 2019

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Live action Disney is in the process of reimagining almost all of its feature films classics such as the Lion King, Dumbo, and Aladdin, which we have been given a trailer sneak-peak. Other classics like The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Snow White, and Pinocchio are also set to follow through in the coming years.
Here are 4 live action Disney classics you can expect to be screened at your local theaters in 2019 according to IMDB:
1. The Lion King

The CGI-reimagined version will be heavily based on the 1994 animated feature film with the same title. The movie focuses on the story of Simba, which will see Donald Glover do Simba’s voice over and is directed by Jon Favreau. IMDB states that Fairview Entertainment and Walt Disney Pictures plans to release the movie on the 25th anniversary of the original film.
2. Dumbo
Release date: March 29, 2019 (USA)
This is one of Disney’s classic that tells the story of Jumbo Jr., nicknamed ‘Dumbo’ as the semi-anthropomorphic elephant is ridiculed for its giant-sized ears but could use them as wings to fly. Anticipations are high since Tim Burton is at the hands as the film’s director. It may come as a treat since it is backed by an all-star cast such as; Alan Arkin, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Colin Farrell, and so many more.
3. Aladdin

The movie that is in its post-production phase will be a live-action retelling of the 1992 Disney film of the same name according to IMDB. It will adopt the same story as the original that is based on an Arabic folktale. The live action version directed by Buy Ritchie is starring Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Nasim Pedrad, and Billy Magnussen among others.
4. Peter Pan
Release date: Unclear at this point
The 2019 live-action adaptation of J.M. Barrie's classic tale of a boy who wouldn't grow up is reported to reimagine the 1953 animated film, unlike the version that came in 2003. This Disney film will be directed by David Lowery with casts yet to be announced.
