TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 shook the Talaud Islands, North Sulawesi, Saturday morning December 29.
“The earthquake occurred at 10:39," as stated by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on its Twitter account @InfoHumasBMKG, Saturday.
The coordinate of the earthquake was at 5.85 North Latitude and 126.81 East Longitude. The epicenter of the quake was in 201 kilometers northeast of the Talaud Islands, atat the depth of 69 kilometers above sea level.
Tempo has not received information about any damage or casualties caused by the earthquake. However, BMKG informed that this earthquake had no tsunami potential.
