TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The slopes at Km. 489 of the Salatiga-Kartasura toll road collapsed, eroded by rainwater. The toll road was just inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on December 20, or exactly a week ago, as part of the Trans Java Toll Road.
Jasa Marga said that the torrential rain over the last few days had caused damage to the slopes.
Jasa Marga spokesman Dwimawan Heru said that despite the collapsed slopes, the body of the road remains intact and only the guard rails shifted location; falling down along with the soil.
He also added that the damage was 20 meters in length and had been repaired.
"It will be completed in a maximum of four days," he told the media via WhatsApp, Thursday, December 27, 2018.
He also ensured that the toll road operates normally with one lane. The other lane is being used for repairs.
