TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Region VI of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) officer Erwin explained the cause of the cracked concrete on Rawa Buaya flyover or Cengkareng flyover in West Jakarta.
According to Erwin, PUPR Ministry is indeed repairing the flyover to replace the pot bearing and rubber expansion joint.
“It is true, when carrying out the construction of the pot bearing, we limit the vehicles passing the flyover,” Erwin said when contacted on Wednesday night, December 26.
Today, the photos of cracked concrete of Cengkareng flyover were circulating on social media. The concrete side of the Rawa Buaya flyover that leads to Cengkareng was cracked in two and uneven.
Erwin stated that there were no defects in the flyover reconstruction, which resulted in a crack. He ensured the flyover was safe for the vehicles to pass.
The government is repairing the bearing pot located on the flyover. There are also the concreting in some parts of the flyover.
As a result, said Erwin, he had to limit the vehicles passing the flyover.
“Large vehicles are feared to be disturbing because of the vibration. But after completion, everything will be functional as normal,” Erwin said.
Erwin said that the Rawa Buaya flyover repair project was included in the government’s plan in 2018. However, its implementation has only been running recently. It is targeted to be completed before 2019.
