TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Administration discussed the budget allocation of Rp33 billion for the provision of E-TLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) ticket camera proposed by Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Police.

“The Jakarta provincial government is discussing the proposed budget,” acting head of Jakarta Transportation Agency Sigit Wijatmoko said at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 26.

Sigit said the budget is for the procurement of E-TLE camera at 20 major intersections in Jakarta where the congestion points located. He did not specify the number of cameras and the location of the camera installation.

The Jakarta administration, said Sigit, is discussing the mechanism of E-TLE camera distribution and the source of the budget.

According to Sigit, the provision of the camera could not be sourced from the 2019 Regional Budget (APBD) since the Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD) has set the approved budget for next year.

Therefore, another option is to propose a grant of Rp33 billion assistance funds for the police in the 2019 Revised APBD.

Previously, the Jakarta Police proposed that the regional administration help the provision of 50 E-TLE ticket cameras. Police are targeting to install 81 cameras at 25 Jakarta points in 2019. However, the request for assistance to the Jakarta administration is beyond the target of expanding the E-TLE ticket policy.
