TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 on Richter scale struck Donggala District, Central Sulawesi on early Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at 03:36 local times.
The Meteorology, Climatology, Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said the quake epicenter located in 6 kilometers southwest of Donggala District. “The quake is centered in the land,” BMKG official account of Twitter announced.
The agency stated the quake occurred in the depth of 8 kilometers. The tremor was felt in Palu City.
Previously, 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit districts of Central Sulawesi including Donggala, Sigi, Palu, and Moutoung on September 28, 2018. The quake was followed by a tsunami in Palu City causing casualties of more than 2,000 people.
