Pertamina Provides 24-Hours Service for Christmas Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, projected that the peak of homecoming traffic for the Christmas and New Year holiday will occur on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Therefore, the company is on standby to provide refuelling services for 24-hours to help anyone on their homecoming trip.

"We have prepared a 24-hours fuel service, expecially on the Trans Java toll road, which predicted to be the homecomers main choice of route," said Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina Adiatma Sardjito in a written statement received by Tempo on Saturday, December 22, 2018.

Adiatma said that the 24-hours service include the KiosK Pertamax, which introduces the concept of selling packaged fuel at official Pertamina kiosk. Pertamina will also provide mobile refuelling service by using motorcycles, and providing fuel selling services using tanker trucks equipped with fuel dispensers.

Based on the Special Christmas and New Year Taksforce report on Friday evening, December 21, 2018, Adiatma explained that there has been an increase in fuel consumption rate by 11 percent of normal consumption for gasoline-based fuel.

Meanwhile, for gasoil fuel (diesel fuel), an increase in diesel consumption by 18 percent from normal consumption. Adiatma said that the phenomenon is the effect of increasing volume of goods transportation before the enforcement of the commercial vehicle ban.
