TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the government would prepare a particular scheme of house ownership credit program (KPR) for the millennial generation.
"The government is currently setting a special KPR scheme for state civil apparatus, military personnel, police members, and millennials. The youth generation can make use of the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) scheme," said Minister Basuki in Jakarta, Friday, December 21, 2018.
Basuki explained that millennials would obtain a subsidy from the government to own a house.
"The President orders us to prepare this scheme. The FLPP scheme is expanded, no more salary limit, allowed to build a bigger house of more than 36 meters square, and hopefully, with a lower down payment and interest," Basuki added.
A special scheme for millennials would be discussed and formulated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Finance Ministry, the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), and PUPR Ministry.
A total of 25 banks have signed an Operating Cooperation Agreement (PKO) regarding the disbursement of the KPR program with the FLPP scheme in 2019. The banks include Bank BTN, Bank BRI Syariah, Bank BNI, Bank Papua, Bank Sumut Syariah, Bank BJB Syariah, Bank BJB, Bank Sumut, Bank Kalbar, and Bank Mandiri.
