TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Information technology service firm Dimension Data released its 2019 technology trends report surrounding the digital transformation phenomenon, revealing Indonesia’s human resources’ unpreparedness upon facing it.
“I often communicate with industry players and regulators on the challenges facing Indonesia. We agreed that the number one challenge is Indonesia’s subpar human resources that lack breakthrough ideas to create innovation,” said Hendra Lesmana, Dimension Data Country General Manager for Indonesia at the Kayuh Café Cikajang on Tuesday, December 18.
The report suggests that the impact of digital transformation will grow even larger in 2019 with many more companies partaking in digital transformations for the next three years. It paves the way for the transformation to become a future norm.
Digital transformation in Indonesia can be mostly felt through hybrid technologies that are starting to seep into infrastructure maintenance, cybersecurity, and data management.
“There are highly developed Indonesian companies in the digital transformation, but many lack it too. Some have started, some are not there yet,” said the Dimension Data Country General Manager.
