Juanda Airport Operates 24 Hours during Christmas, New Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Juanda International Airport Surabaya in Sidoarjo, East Java, will operate 24 hours during Christmas and New Year 2019. The airport will operate 24 hours from December 20 to January 6, 2019.

“We will stop all airport repairs that are usually conducted at night, during the 2019 Christmas and New Year holidays,” said General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Juanda Surabaya Heru Prasetyo on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Christmas and 2019 New Year post at Terminal 2 of Juanda International Airport Surabaya, Thursday, December 20.

Heru said his side estimated that during this Christmas and New Year period, there would be an increase in the movement of passengers and flights.

“Compared to the previous Christmas and New Year, we predict this year, the flight's movement to increase 7 percent and the passenger's movement to increase by 9 percent,” he said.

Heru said that the total movement of flights during the 2017 Christmas and 2018 New Year was 9,963 and 1.4 million passengers movement.
