KPK to Examine Former West Java Governor Aher over Meikarta Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to examine former governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan or Aher for the bribery case of Meikarta project soon. Aher would be interrogated as a witness for non-active Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin.
“Aher will be questioned as a witness for Neneng,” said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah Thursday, December 20.
Febri stopped short to explain the reason. However, Aher was mentioned in the indictment issued by prosecutors of the anti-graft body for a suspect Billy Sindoro, the Operational Director of Lippo Group that developed the project.
The indictment stipulated that Aher issued a decree No. 648/Kep.1069-DPMPTSP/2017 regarding delegation of services and signing of recommendations related to the commercial development of Meikarta project to the Investment and One-stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) of West Java.
Based on the decree, the agency issued a letter to Bekasi Regent in which noting recommendations and several points that Bekasi administration must follow up, as based on the plenary meeting of West Java Regional Spatial Planning Coordination Agency (BKPRD).
KPK had previously quizzed former Deputy Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar on Wednesday, December 1, 2018, to investigate the issuance process of land permit recommendation for Meikarta project.
