New Year's Eve; Cars Banned to Pass Puncak Route

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Bogor Resort Traffic Police will temporarily close Jalan Raya Puncak or Puncak route during the 2019 New Year's Eve. The closure of the road connecting Bogor and Cianjur will start on Monday, December 31, 2018, at 18:00 until Tuesday, January 1, 2018, at 06:00.
“The closure will be valid for all types of vehicles, except motorcycles,” said the traffic police chief Adj. Comr. Hasby Ristama to Tempo, Wednesday, December 19.
According to Hasby, the traffic engineering aimed at reducing the number of vehicles entering the Puncak area and preventing congestion during New Year’s Eve celebration.
“Officers will be deployed for the vehicle sweeping,” Hasby added.
The security measure, he mentioned, will be carried out in density-prone junctions such as Polingga, Gadog, Cimory, Taman Safari, and Gunung Mas.
“The rule also valid for locals. Thus, we appeal to the public to not driving a car during the period,” he underlined.
However, Hasby noted, people heading to Cianjur and Sukabumi during New Year's Eve can take the route via Jonggol or enter Bocimi Toll.
