KPU Ensures Election Debate Only Runs in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Election Commission (KPU) chairman Arief Budiman ensured that debates of 2019 presidential election will only be run in Jakarta. Earlier, the commission suggested to holding debates in other cities such as Surabaya.

According to Arief, five series of debates of presidential-vice presidential candidates will take place in the capital city following recommendations from both camps

“Last week, the two camps want all debate programs to run in Jakarta,” said Arief in the KPU building, Wednesday, December 19.

Therefore, Arief said that the KPU and the two campaign teams today, December 19, will discuss the location and technical issues related to the election debate in the KPU office.
