TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice-presidential candidate Ma'ruf Amin conducted a political safari in Sukabumi regency, West Java, Wednesday, December 19.
“Now I am quite fit. I can visit the places outside Jakarta,” Ma'ruf Amin said through a written statement on Wednesday, December 19.
Some time ago, Ma’ruf’s leg was dislocated and for three weeks he only received guests at his residence, Jalan Situbondo No. 12, Jakarta.
In Sukabumi, Ma’ruf will visit Al Masthuriyah Islamic Boarding School in Cibolang Kaler, Cisaat, Sukabumi. There, Ma’ruf will attend the invitation from Nahdatul Ulama (NU) ulemas and students and a number of community leaders.
Ma’ruf said his visit to Sukabumi brought a special mission, namely to give a perspective to the community on the amount of attention of the President Jokowi’s administration to the people of the Sukabumi and its surroundings.
The proof, Ma’ruf said, is that infrastructure development is very massive. The example that was just inaugurated by President Jokowi is the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) toll section I. The construction of section II is being implemented.
“The toll road is Sukabumi’s vein. If it used to take 5 hours to Sukabumi. Now if the traffic is smooth, it can be only 2.5 hours from Jakarta. Indeed, it has not directly to Sukabumi, but it has started,” said Ma'ruf.
In addition to toll roads, a double track railway line is being worked on to Sukabumi and its surroundings. A pioneer airport in Sukabumi will also be built.
“The impact will be very high on economic values and improve people’s welfare. The surrounding Sukabumi residents must look objectively,” said Ma'ruf Amin.
