TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) secretary general Hasto Kristiyanto demanded Democrat Party not to dramatically responded to the case of the party’s attribute destruction in Pekanbaru, Riau.
According to Hasto, his party often experienced similar cases and recently in West Sulawesi. Yet, Hasto claimed that his side did not overstate the issue like that of Democrat.
“Let alone West Sulawesi, we also deal with the same case in West Java where banners of our legislative candidate are destroyed,” said Hasto in the regional office of PDIP in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 18.
Hasto mentioned the case was then reported to the authorities. “Thus in this political situation, all leaders are expected to be wise. Do not dramatize various problems to gain electoral effects,” he noted.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto previously said that he had revealed the perpetrator. During a press conference in his office, yesterday, December 17, Wiranto along with National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian and Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said the perpetrator who damaged attributes of Democrat and PDIP in Riau were members of both parties.
SBY recently refused Wiranto’s statement through his Twitter account that his party investigation showed different findings. According to SBY, PDIP and Democrat Party were not the mastermind and initiator of the case.
Hasto further suggested Wiranto speak up and mention the names of the perpetrator who destroyed parties’ attributes.
