“Tourists from China still occupy the first position, the most arrivals for 11 months,” said General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Yanus Suprayogi in Denpasar, Tuesday, December 18.
His party noted that from January to November, the number of tourists reached 5.62 million people. Although China ranked first with a share of 23 percent reaching 1.29 million people, compared to October, the arrival of tourists from China decreased by almost 40 percent.
Yanus did not mention the cause of the decline of Chinese tourists arrival. For the second and third position, tourists from Australia and India occupied each with 1 million and 322,000 people.
Yanus added, the country that experienced an increase in the number of tourists through Ngurah Rai Airport, namely Japan, which reached 42 percent, followed by the United States and India, namely 40.8 percent and 39.4 percent.
Yanus is optimistic that by the end of the year, the number of foreign tourists will increase, especially from Europe. In connection with the opening of direct flights from Russia to Bali, which served three times a week recently. From the European region, three countries have entered the top 10 ranks of foreign tourists visiting Bali, namely Britain, France and Germany.
