Billy Sindoro to be Put on Trial in Meikarta Graft Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Billy Sindoro, Lippo Group's Operational Director, will be put on trial for the Meikarta project graft case.
"The first trial with the agenda of reading the indictment is scheduled on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at the Corruption Court in Bandung," said Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spokesman Febri Diansyah on Monday, December 17, 2018.
Two Lippo Group consultants, Taryufi and Fitra Djaja Purnama, as well as one Lippo employee, Henry Jasmen Sitohang, will also be put on trial.
The KPK stated in the indictment that the roles of each defendant would be described in the alleged bribe to Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin and her staff "as well as how the relationship between the role of the defendant and the interests of the Lippo Group towards the Meikarta project," Febri added.
The KPK said that it would also investigate the alleged corporate roles and interests in the case. The KPK previously arrested Billy Sindoro and other suspects in a sting operation on October 2018. The KPK suspected Billy and his employees of handing over IDR 7 billion bribe to Neneng and her staff to facilitate the licensing of the Meikarta project.
